Experience it

Last February we visited beautiful Kavala and the Tsalapatino in one of our stops, from our trip to Northern Greece. The slope of Saint Sila was covered in snow and the snow was falling endlessly into an unexpected morning surprise. The Via Egnatia was closed and the Kavala hosted us for one day and made our trip even more beautiful.

Unlike the winter landscape and low temperature, the hospitality of the Tsalapeteinos (both decoration and staff) embraces you and welcomes you in a unique way to enjoy there every moment of the day, from morning till late evening with excellent choices in coffee, breakfast, food and drink.

Tsalapetinos is located at the entrance to the main port of Kavala, on the edge of the old town, a few meters away from the stunning, old water tower. Whoever you ask which places should you visit in Kavala they will mention this wonderful place. Unique not only for its hospitality but also its excellent cuisine and the options for food from most simple menu (food street), witha choice of burger and sandwiches, to the most demanding cuisine, with more expensive dishes with cost representing the best of the quality offered, such as black angus Beef Fillet, etc. What makes the cuisine unique is the persistence of the kitchen team for alpha quality in raw materials and promotion of the Greek products. The menu changes 3 to 4 times a year depending on the mood of the weather and seasonal products.

A delicious proposal that Tsalapetinos was the first that introduced the brunch in Kavala. The intermediate time between breakfast and lunch, with choices from both favorite options for breakfast such as eggs and croque madame to burgers and delicious pancakes. The croquet madame was simply excellent ideal to strengthen up.

In addition, the area is known for its beautiful nights with live bands and the best options for drinks and cocktails. The bar team changes the drinks and coctails’menu frequently. Also depending on the season and the raw materials always keeping customers’ favorite picks of the patron and classica lselections in cocktails and always offers the best of itself to meet any kind of demand.

On our evening walk we didn't miss the opportunity to try a favorite drink, not only of Tsalapeteinos regular guests, but ours as well, based on the sweet Diplomatico Reserva Exlusiva. A cocktail from the Tiki category, the Zombie.

We liked

The arched cellar at the bottom of the shop, with special treasures of Greek and international vineyards. Excellent idea and options to perfectly accompany the chef's delicious dishes or relax with your friends. Do not forget that the area around Kavala is renowned for its excellent microclimate, so choose a local wine to enjoy it.
