Folegandros is an island that calls for strolling around due to its plane main town, and can accommodate all tastes from local restaurants and pubs for raki to cute little bars for interesting cocktail suggestions. You can enjoy your daily walk around the narrow alleys in one of the cleanest-cut towns in the Cyclades island complex and there are even enough different places for you to choose from, for your evenings out.

After we strolled our way to Punda square so we could revere the beautiful view from the cliff towards the sea, we wound up at the Beez Cocktail Bar, known for its delicious cocktails made with the experience gained from its 8 years of operation. You cannot possibly pass on the chance to have a drink made by Manolis when in Folegandros.

With a gift in hand for the guys over at Beez, made by Ms Irini who insists that she makes the best watermelon dessert (we vouch for that), we decided to have a refreshing sour cocktail based on Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva aged rum. This Venezuelan Sour’s sweet and sour flavor with orange aromas, is truly a perfect match for balancing out the sweetness from the watermelon dessert.

The Cocktail Recipe

Venezuelan Sour

50ml Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva

25ml Monin Gomme

30ml lime

Shake all ingredients in shaker with ice, strain in an old-fashioned glass on the rocks. Garnish with a mint sprig.
